Thomas B. Mansfield Sr., the founder of the company, began working in the boiler industry in 1948. After working for Kewanee Boiler and Cleaver-Brooks, Mansfield moved his family to Denver in 1965 and started Thomas B. Mansfield Co. Mansfield quickly made his mark by selling Cleaver Brooks Boilers for the states of Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. In 1967 Mansfield founded the T-M Service Co., which offers boiler service and aftermarket support.
Thomas B. Mansfield Company is a family owned and operated business. In 1969, Mansfield's son, Thomas Jr., went to work for his father as a service technician. Later Thomas worked as the service manager, and as a new equipment salesman. In 1992 Thomas became the President of both companies, and still holds that position to day.
After graduating from Ft. Lewis Collage In 1987, another of Mansfield's sons, John F. Mansfield, started with T-M Service Company as a service technician. Holding subsequent positions of service tech, service manager, and new equipment salesman, he is now the Vice President of both companies.
Thomas B. Mansfield Company, and T-M Service Company originally started with the Cleaver-Brooks boiler line, and since the late 1980's have added other heating, process, and water treatment lines, including Fulton, Ajax, Cannon Boiler Works, IBC, Everlasting Valves and Atlantic Feed Water Systems.
